Continuity and Autonomy/Independence for the Company

Reinhard Mohn transfers his votes to the BVG.

In 1993, Reinhard Mohn had already transferred the majority of shares in Bertelsmann AG to the Bertelsmann Stiftung foundation.* To ensure the company’s continuity and independence from external factors, on 1 July 1999 he transferred his voting rights to the Bertelsmann Verwaltungsgesellschaft (BVG). Today, the BVG controls 100 percent of the voting rights in the General Meeting of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA and Bertelsmann Management SE. Its shareholders are currently three representatives of the Mohn family and three other, elected, persons.
